When you think of dance music in Jpop, only one name comes to mine, MAX
I order MAX Video collection and just received it a couple a days ago. It was a collection of all their videos from the past to the present (going from 1996 to 2003) The first disc had 17 of their videos ranging from the years between 1997 -2001, songs like "grace of my heart (my favorite song) to "Love Impact" (my favorite MAX video). I remember seeing a lot of these videos a few years back and wondering what MAX would be like in the latter years. Would they still have that cute and innocence image as they did in there late teens (18 and 19 years old)?
Before I received the Video Collection, I saw a short clip of there latest video entitled "love Screw" I was surprise by there new tanned sexy look. The video showed MAX in a more sexy and seductive look, it was really a change for the euro dance style. When I view Disc 2 which had all there recent and latest videos and their live performances, the video that really got my attention and made me say "WOW" was "Internal White".For the first time I saw a whole new different MAX, they were all grown up!
Gone was that young and cute appearance that many fans remembered them as.
They really have aged over the past 9 years or so, since they were introduction to
the music business with Amuro Namie as the super monkeys.
After 7 years of there release of " grace of my heart" video, they are now all
grown up into a really great group. This video"Internal White" really shows off
their beauty and maturity. They seem so much older and bolder, which is a great thing. At the time of this video they are between the ages of 24 and 25 years! Nana really shows her age, maturity and beauty and (especially Mina) in the video as do the rest of the group. The video is really nice and shows off there singing ability and more classy appearance, and they dress so much better now.
In all, MAX has really blossom into a wonderful dance group. They have been entertaining fans with their dancing ability and euro beat style for almost a decade now ( 9 years ). Unlike most groups that break-up and split in a few years, MAX knows what it takes to stay together and remain active in the music business. There are very few groups that has been able to maintain their popularity of even 5 years or less, before they disappears from the music world (like TRINITY, I miss them). So you got to give MAX credit on that, after 8 years they are still here and better that ever.
